Alfanar Projects

Noaman Al Adhami is the Head of Alfanar Project’s UK division, where he leads the development of the largest and most advanced Waste-to-Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) project in the UK, known as Lighthouse Green Fuels.

With a proven track record in establishing global operations and active participation in major energy sector transitions over the past decades, Noaman now directs his expertise towards the transition from fossil to renewable fuels. Widely recognized as a thought leader in the decarbonization of the aviation sector, he provides valuable insights, having been at the forefront of the UK’s SAF development from the beginning.

Noaman holds an MBA from Sheffield Business School and a BSc degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Jordan.

Commercial Director
East Midlands Airport

Adam joined East Midlands as Commercial Director in September 2025, where he oversees commercial relationships across aviation, including cargo, terminal operations, and carparking. With a strategic focus on driving growth and enhancing operational value, Adam plays a key role in positioning East Midlands as a leading hub for both passenger and freight activity.

Adam joined MAG in 2023 as Head of Strategy where he was accountable for developing MAG’s25-year business strategy and development of the group's aviation analysis suite.

He brings with him a wealth of experience from British Airways, where he most recently served as Network Planning and Scheduling Manager for Heathrow short haul. His background spans network development, commercial strategy, and operational planning, giving him a unique perspective on the evolving dynamics of UK aviation.

Chief Executive
Civil Aviation Authority

Rob Bishton is the Chief Executive of the Civil Aviation Authority and has held the role since October 2023.

He became Chief Executive after serving as Interim Joint Chief Executive between April and October 2023.

Appointed to the Board as Group Director of Safety and Airspace Regulation in November 2019, Rob has been at the CAA since 2014, and previously held the role of Head of Flight Operations.

He has extensive experience in the aviation industry, including positions at Fastjet, Astraeus, and easyJet. A qualified commercial pilot, Rob has more than 10,000 flying hours on B787 and B737 aircraft.

He has also represented the UK at the EASA Management Board and was formerly a Non-Executive Director of the UK Flight Safety Committee.

Director of Sustainable Aviation
ICF

Alastair Blanshard leads the sustainable aviation team at ICF, supporting companies and governments across the global industry to reduce the environmental impact from aviation.

He brings a strategic understanding of the challenges and opportunities to decarbonise aviation, and how to ensure projects can be structured to have a greater impact than just the sum of parts. His focus is on the development of decarbonisation strategies, policies and working alongside financiers to assess investments in SAF. In recent projects, Alastair has worked with airlines, governments, and producers in the UK, US, Europe, Ethiopia, Japan, UAE, Kazakhstan, Australia, and LATAM to accelerate their use of SAF, allowing him to bring a comprehensive understanding of the global dynamics for the evolving feedstocks, technologies, and policies.

Through project work and completion of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program, he has a thorough understanding of the financial implications of sustainability initiatives, supported with technical expertise as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with a Masters in Aeronautical Engineering (MEng).

As CEO of Swissport International, Warwick Brady heads the world’s number one aviation services provider across its airport ground operations, air cargo services, and airport hospitality businesses.

He leads 65,000 global aviation professionals who serve 250 million passengers, welcome six million lounge guests and handle approximately five million tons of air freight a year. If Swissport was an airline, it would be the largest carrier in the world.

Since being appointed Swissport’s CEO in May 2021, Warwick has been instrumental in developing the company’s unique business model with a diversified portfolio, world-class service, and the highest safety standards globally.

He has played a pivotal role in driving Swissport’s long term and sustainable growth, expanding its global footprint to 279 airports in 45 countries and delivering record revenues and margin in 2024 -double the turnover compared to 2021- driven by strong organic growth and business transformation.

Under Warwick’s strategic leadership Swissport is shaping the airport experience of the future with AI, data, and robotics at its core. This includes pioneering the next generation of intelligent ground handling equipment with fully autonomous vehicles.

During his tenure, Swissport has seen a profound transformation into a trusted global brand, tech, and sustainability leader ranked in the top 1% of companies worldwide for sustainability performance by EcoVadis.

Before joining Swissport, Warwick held senior strategic roles in leading international aviation and energy companies in Europe, Asia and India including Chief Operating Officer at FTSE100 easyJet, Deputy Operations Director at Ryanair, CEO of Mandala Airlines (Indonesia) and CEO of Esken Limited, a British infrastructure, aviation and energy company. He previously held board positions at Airline Group and NATS (National Air Traffic Services) in the UK.

Warwick grew up in South Africa and graduated from Henley Management School, UK with an MBA and a Diploma in Business Management. He is a trained commercial pilot.

Jason co-founded Kerogen and its predecessor Ancora Capital in 2007. Jason is responsible for the overall running of the firm, its investment strategy and digital transformation, portfolio construction and risk management. He led the firm’s net-zero carbon commitment, and established its dedicated energy transition platform, CelerateX. He is a board member of Buried Hill and Pandion.

Jason has around 30 years’ commercial experience across investing, operations and investment banking. He was formerly Managing Director of Jade International Capital Partners Limited in Beijing, and had previously worked in energy investment banking at J.P. Morgan and Schroders.

Jason holds a Masters degree (Finance and Management) from the University of Sydney and a Bachelors degree (Economics and Econometrics) from the University of Melbourne.

Director General
Border Force

Phil Douglas is the Director General of Border Force at the Home Office. He is also the statutory Director of Border Revenue, reporting to ministers at HM Treasury.

Phil has held a variety of senior roles across the Home Office, including in national security, Border Force (where he was Regional Director for Heathrow Airport), enforcement and asylum policy.

Outside the Home Office, he has also worked at the Ministry of Justice, the European Commission, and at the former UK Representation to the European Union.

Phil started his civil service career as an immigration officer at Heathrow Airport.

Phil was appointed a Companion of the Order of the Bath in the 2025 Birthday Honours for services to border security and public service.

British Airways

Sean Doyle was appointed Chief Executive of British Airways in October 2020, and Chairman in April 2021. He also sits on the management committee of British Airways’ parent company, International Airlines Group.

Sean first joined British Airways in 1998, where he began his career as a financial analyst. During his time at British Airways, Sean has held a number of senior roles in London and the US, and in 2016 was appointed to the airline’s executive leadership team as Director of Network, Fleet & Alliances.

From January 2019, prior to his appointment as Chief Executive of British Airways, Sean was Chief Executive of Aer Lingus.

Sean sits on the leadership council of Business In The Community (BITC), on the Government’s Aviation Council, and serves as Vice Chair of BritishAmerican Business (BAB).

Sean is married with a son and is a graduate of University College Cork.

Katherine Moloney is the Founder of Elevate(her) Aviation. She has obtained a Private Pilot's Licence for both helicopter and fixed wing aircraft. Katherine is also the recipient of the IATA 2025 High Flyer award, as well as being a former Department for Transport Aviation Ambassador, and a ground operations volunteer with Spitfire aircraft at Goodwood. She also runs her own aviation social media accounts aimed at supporting and encouraging people in the aviation industry which has a combined reach of over 600,000 followers.

He is an award-winning former foreign and political correspondent for BBC and Sky News, working in Washington DC, Brussels and Westminster on both radio and television. In 2018 he became the national spokesperson for the British railway industry, regularly appearing on BBC radio and TV, Sky, ITV and Channel 4 News. He helped hone and deliver the industry’s messaging to customers, business and government before and during the pandemic.

London Gatwick Airport

Pierre-Hugues Schmit joined London Gatwick as Chief Executive on 1 September 2025.

Prior to joining London Gatwick, he was Chief Commercial and Operational Officer at VINCI Airports, a role he held since 2017. In this role, he oversaw operations across the entire VINCI Airports portfolio, which comprises 70 airports in 14 countries and serves over 300 million passengers, managing a wide range of activities from airport operations to air service development and cargo.

Pierre-Hugues also worked for the French Civil Aviation Authority for seven years, including three years as Head of the French Airlines Department from 2006 to 2009. Between 2010 and 2012, he served as an adviser to the French Transport Minister and later joined Aéroports de Paris as Deputy Director of the Le Bourget division. In 2014, alongside three partners, he co-founded La Compagnie, a French airline based in Paris and offering business class services to New York.

From 2019 until his appointment as CEO, Pierre-Hugues was a non-executive director on the London Gatwick Board, where he chaired the airport’s Operations Health and Safety Committee.

A graduate of Ecole Polytechnique (Paris) in 2001 and the French National University of Civil Aviation (ENAC in Toulouse) in 2003, Pierre-Hugues also spent one year at UC Berkeley as graduate student in transportation engineering.

DHL

Mr. James Michael Stephens has been the Vice President Corporate Affairs at DHL since September 2021. He is responsible for public affairs and stakeholder relations for DHL in the UK and Ireland.

Prior to joining DHL he had global responsibility for Government & Corporate Affairs at Aston Martin Lagonda and served in a number of senior positions for, Nissan Motor Company in Europe and BAE Systems in both the UK and United States.

He first joined BAE Systems in their London HQ in 2003 as a Government Relations Executive, leading on defence and strategic policy. In 2008 James was seconded to the Ministry of Defence to work for the then Chief of Defence Material, before taking up a posting in Washington DC as the Director of International Government Relations in 2010.

In 2012 James joined Nissan Motor Company in the UK as Head of UK Government Affairs dealing with all policy and strategic engagement relating to Nissan’s activities in the UK. In 2014 he took on the role of Head European Strategic Policy in addition to his UK responsibilities.

He moved to Aston Martin Lagonda in the summer of 2015 to develop a government affairs function for the growing luxury automotive business. During the course of his tenure he expanded this to cover all aspects of corporate affairs, including corporate PR and sustainability, developing the company’s first sustainability strategy.

Born in Hampshire, England, he earned a degree in Information Technology in 2003 from Southampton Solent University and studied International Affairs at Georgetown University in Washington DC. James is married with two children.

Member of UK House of Lords

Baroness Sugg CBE was the Minister for Overseas Territories and Sustainable Development at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) from September until November 2020. She was first appointed as a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the Department for International Development on 13 February 2020.

Baroness Sugg was also the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy for Girls’ Education from March to November 2020.

Previously she was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for International Development from 23 April 2019 to 13 February 2020, Government Whip (Baroness in Waiting) from 15 June 2017 to 26 July 2019 and Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport from October 2017 to April 2019. Baroness Sugg became a Conservative life peer on 30 August 2016.

Heathrow

Thomas Woldbye took up the role as Heathrow CEO in October 2023. As CEO, Thomas is focussed on driving innovation in passenger service, sustainability and growth at the UK’s hub airport. He is also overseeing the airport’s multi billion pound investment plans to upgrade existing facilities and provide an even better service for passengers, including the next generation security programme and new baggage system for Terminal 2. Thomas is a member of His Majesty’s Sustainable Markets Initiative, the BritishAmerican Business Advisory Board and the Jet Zero Council.

Thomas was previously CEO of Copenhagen Airport from May 2011 – September 2023. Under Thomas’s stewardship, Copenhagen Airport was consistently rated as one of the world’s top airports, both in terms of customer and retail experience as well as efficiency and profitability. He worked in partnership with the trade unions in Denmark and put customers at the front of mind for all colleagues at the airport.

Previously, Thomas worked for A.P. Møller-Maersk for 27 years. He started his career as a management trainee in 1983, and over the next 20 years, held several management positions in Indonesia, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, the Netherlands and Denmark. During this period, he was primarily involved in the management of Maersk Line, the company’s worldwide container business. In 2004, Thomas took over as Group CEO of Norfolkline Group with headquarters in The Hague.

Thomas has an HD in Financing from Copenhagen Business School and professional qualifications from the London Business School and the IMD in Switzerland.
