A manifesto for UK aviation

- Thank you for joining us at Airlines 2023 on Monday 20 November. We hope you found it to be an insightful and successful day.
- Now in its fifth successful year, this unique one-day summit was again hosted by Airlines UK, BAR UK and IATA, in partnership with FlightGlobal. With a UK General Election on the horizon, there’s a clear opportunity for the next government to set a new and refreshed path for sustainable aviation growth. This definitive UK aviation event brought together new speakers with fresh ideas and positive solutions as we debate a manifesto for UK aviation.
- Created for senior level attendees, Airlines 2023 is the ‘must attend’ event of the year for all those working in the UK aviation sector - from airlines, airports, government, media or suppliers.

Thank you to our Charity Partner
Founded in 1909, the Air League is the UK’s leading aviation and aerospace charity with a vision focused on changing lives through aviation. It breaks down the barriers into these industries through its scholarships and outreach programmes.
The Air League not only inspires, enables, and supports the next generation of aviation and aerospace professionals from all backgrounds across the UK through its outreach schemes, but uses these programmes as a catalyst to spark the inspiration and realisation that opportunities and possibilities are accessible to anyone.
Each year thousands of individuals around the UK benefit from Air League support, including disadvantaged youngsters and wounded and injured servicemen and women. Equally important is ensuring this next generation of aviation and aerospace leaders are at the forefront of developing greener and more sustainable technologies as the UK works towards a net-zero future.
A total of 107 Scholarships were awarded to young people across the UK in 2023; 27 Gliding Scholarships, 66 Flying Scholarships, 6 Engineering Scholarships and 8 Drone Scholarships. Furthermore, the Soaring to Success schools’ outreach programme for ages 13-17 provided hundreds of students the opportunity to learn more about the aviation industry with engaging careers conferences led by industry organisations, educational e-learning modules covering topics such as employability skills, principles of flight and cybersecurity, and trial gliding and flying lessons to give young people practical flying experience.
The support and opportunities offered by the Air League are unrivalled and continue to strengthen the next generation of aviators across the country.
