AIRLINE INTERVIEW - WestJet
  • WestJet Encore is current implementing tools like Pratt & Whitney’s FAST system and FLYHT’s AFIRS system to lay the groundwork to obtain more input data for predictive maintenance
  • Monitoring our FAST system trends has allowed us to avoid Engine in-flight shutdowns and keep our engines working efficiently. This can become more effective if not relying on human interaction to flag the adverse trends
  • By implementing the AFIRS system on one aircraft, it will be a test bed to determine the feasibility of preventing costly AOG situations, that are easily avoided by collecting real-time performance data.
