Oriel joined Airbus in early 2022 as Senior Vice President Public Affairs. Based in London, she leads the company’s external engagement and strategy in the UK and works closely with the Global Executive Committee. She does this for all parts of the Airbus company which employs more than 11,000 people across 25 sites in the UK.
Until November 2021 and for the preceding twenty years she worked as a British senior civil servant and diplomat with a varied career advising Ministers at HM Treasury, the Cabinet Office, the Business Department, UK Trade and Investment and the Department for International Trade. From 2015 to 2019 she was responsible for Franco-British commercial diplomacy at the British Embassy in Paris, becoming the first Deputy Trade Commissioner not only for France but for Europe in 2018. She has worked at the European Commission and advised the House of Lords EU Committee.
Oriel is a Trustee of the Franco-British Council. She grew up in the Netherlands, has lived and
worked in Germany, Belgium and France and speaks fluent German, French and Dutch. Oriel
studied at St.John's College, Oxford and has a Masters in European Politics from Reading
University. She is an active mentor and married with two sons.
