Prior to founding SATAVIA, Dr. Durant worked as a professional scientist and held posts at the University of Cambridge and Norwegian Institute for Air Research. In addition, he accumulated the role as responsible for the maintenance program of TAP’s single aisle (SA) fleet and was also appointed as the SA ISC TAP’s representative. Currently he manages an Innovation Department in the Maintenance and Engineering Business Unit of TAP Air Portugal and coordinates an European funded project in the aviation maintenance domain, AIRMES (http://www.airmes-project.eu/), with 12 partners across 6 European member states and a 6 Million euros budget, .
